Yes, Bill, Jock got up...apparently to leave the room, using all four limbs, when I put on the 8-6-71 version (I think that like his adoptive mother, it was the high pitched "babbeeeee!" that was too much). He's gettin better.

Thus, it can make a tetrapod WALK, that couldn't, but it leaves unresolved whether 4-29-71 would've had the same effect.

Just FYI, for those that don't know it, do yourself a favor and listen to just three songs from this fine show today, cause "Jock sez to": Mr Charlie, Loser and H2H. Available as the excellent AUD, here, elbow describes historically elsewhere, and of course, now via RTs whatever the heck #.

NOTE to the Doc: nice to see ya, FBack, and hope all is well in Blue Grass country...

Glad to hear the good news. Jerry could make a blind man see and a dog walk.

The GD Compendium mentions rumors that Jerry dropped to his knees during the solo. So it all fits.

Very good news indeed. My dogs heard an H2H this morning as well. While we were on our extended weekend walk I happened to have had 4-29-71 playing. Like I said yesterday, you really can't go wrong with either.

Agreed...
my three favorites in any order(as long as 4/29 is 1st)
4/29/71
8/6/71
8/2/69 http://www.archive.org/details/gd69-08-02.sbd.miller.30651.sbeok.flacf

now I don't recall anyone mentioning 8/2/69 one much, and it may not be "The Best" but Pig and Jerry sure sounded like they was havin' fun. And Pig may not have ever sounded better on keys.

If you play 4/29, he'll fly around the room.

He just might...he's a pig, that's for sure!

Besides, he probably feels bad about the fact that I counted his "vote" for 8-6 repeatedly (every time he looked pained at the loud noises...he prefers peace and quiet; I've noticed that some of our dogs seem to have an affinity for my loud music, as if the "white noise" is soothing, but most prefer the mute button I think).

Good to see ya; hope you're doing well.

Well, Prof. Tell, I tried your 8/6 H2H experiment on our dogs. Dog Number One (the back problem dog) liked it OK, cuz he said, "that makes me want a scritch behind the ears." He also raised his leg, which clearly meant either "this makes me want to fly" or "this makes me want to pee." Either comment, from a dog, would be a compliment.

Dog Number Two liked it better, though, cuz she said, "this makes me want to lick your hand and then ask for a belly rub." Then she stuck around the speakers for a nap, as she often does (whereas Back Problem Dog decided the farthest corner was nappiest.) My working hypothesis is that this is because she's an adopted street dog and hence raucous music gives her fond memories of her wild and free puppyhood. Perhaps whenever Pigpen howls she has lovely nostalgic dreams of dodging honking cars and stealing food from cursing street vendors ...

Sadly, I don't have 4/29, so I can't compare. But I'm sure Ex-Street Dog would find it soothing and sentimental.

I'm glad Jock is feeling better! Also a Corgi, like the other one? Short legs and long back? Hmmmm ... our Back Problem Dog is part Beagle, and I've read that a lot of dogs with those short legs and long back can have back issues. Keep up the meds and the inspirational music :-)

Yes, we've had corgis for yrs, and yrs...grew up around "horse people" and for some reason they are common with them (wannabe royalty? herding? not sure...).

I dunno, WT ... sounds suspiciously British ... or do the Welsh make common cause with the Irish? Maybe bred the Corgis to trip those royal horses?

Astute observation, Rose; yes, in many ways the Welsh and Scots were "smarter" (than us Micks, who do share this oppressor scenario as you note) to end their struggles and join up, so to speak (don't let Miss D see this--I'll never live it down!), whereas we just kept at it, and 800 yrs later where has it gotten us?

Seriously, you can only go on and on resisting for so long, right? Although, another example from closer to the equator and the craddle of civilization suggests that after three thousand yrs you might get a country out of the approach? Probably don't want to take this up for fear of really starting something here, right?

Here's Jock just after I started H2H:

Hmmm. He's not the only one who reacts that way to Pigpen at times ...

Btw, that is one hot H2H.

Re: Jock's ongoing recovery, I am surprised SDH hasn't posted a link to Peter Sellers doing the famous "Mein Fuhrer! I can WALK!!!" (FYI, Jock would NEVER be caught dancing, but Darci, well, trust me--if a dog "dances", she's one of them!).
